Vendor Biography
Hi! I’m Sahar, a Helsinki-based illustrator. I enjoy telling stories through images and illustrating feelings and emotions. I grew up in Iran seeing many strong women fighting for their rights, justice, and equality, which made me passionate about creating impactful illustrations to make a difference. My cartoons and editorials are about social and emotional issues and human rights, with a focus on women.Â
My practice includes visual art, illustration, graphic design, cartoons and picture books. I have worked on projects ranging from editorial illustrations to award-winning cartoons. My work has been published in numerous books and a wide variety of art catalogs. During my Master’s studies at the University of Oslo, I explored the visual aspects of Henrik Ibsen’s dramas, focusing on female characters and illustrating them. In 2018, together with 5 other women, we founded Beyond Art Oslo with the ultimate mission of creating a better world through art.
My working language is English.
