The connection we have to the world we live in, and the influences it has on us, through senses, feelings, emotions, time, is a source of joy to the artist and inspired this painting. This work reflects our touch on the land, and an aspect of our everyday lives, portraying a typical market square in Finland, with its beautiful architecture. We may take things for granted, but the old hold stories of our ancestors, of people who lived in this world, and touched it somehow, leaving marks.
