After long winters and months of darkness, one of the first signs of revival is the Lumikello or the Snowdrop flower. In pristine white, small with narrow green stems and leaves, they spread happiness, symbolising rebirth, grit and patience. Fighting all odds of harsh winter, to revive its growth.
This handmade paper sculpture comprises of a group of Snowdrop flowers (Lumikello, Lumikukka in Finnish) growing in between fallen barks of wood, while the soil is covered with snow. Every part is made using 100% sustainable paper, doublette crepe and paper mache. Paints and pan pastel for the colours.
It has been mounted on an oval wooden board and can be altered as a wall hanging upon request.
