Behind the artwork: Koteloituu (eng. cocoon (verb.)) is inspired by a children’s song by the group Fröbelin palikat about a caterpillar’s metamorphosis into a butterfly. The cocoon is a place of protection, but also of isolation.
About the artist: Alex’s sculptures are born through a material driven process using found or recycled materials. He is currently studying art education at Aalto University and works and runs ceramics courses at MiSo Ceramics in Kallio.
