Portrait of a blind man. Part of a collection about people in Chiapas, Mexico. This print has been exhibited in the Tampere Photography Festival and in Lapinlahden Lähde in 2022.
From the curatorial text:
“In 2015, supported by the National Commission for Culture and Arts in Mexico, we began a five-year-long journey of rediscovery of our own national identity through a series of photography and documentary projects around diverse topics. We visited indigenous communities in Chiapas, the origin of the Zapatista Movement in Mexico. This state in Mexico is one of the most diverse in terms of indigenous cultures and languages, and also one of the poorest in infrastructure and services.”
The print is a black and white giclée, professionally dry-mounted and framed. It has a minor scratch from traveling between exhibitions, but it is barely noticeable. The print is framed with a high-quality veneer covered aluminium.
